1804 Great Britain (Scotland) Entire cd Banff-Elgin Entire with cancelled with a Framed BANFF Circular namestamp cancel on back. This cancel was in use during 1800-1805. On the front is also a manuscript postal charge of 5, the price for carrying a single sheet between 30 and 50 miles. Entire is sent to Capt Brande, Elgin, and reads "I have the honour to hand you copy of a letter which I received from the Att General's Office, to which i request your attention. You will forward to me in course rations agreeable to the desire thereof, for the corps under your command." Due to the contents of the entire, it is likely this is referring to preparations for a war, which historically would line it up with the Third war of the Coalition. Entire sent to Elgin, Scotland, and has been opened with seal remnant on back. Entire has some age wear and toning on both sides, some scuffing on corners and edges, some tearing to back flap, and some general wear on both sides.
