1840 Great Britain Entire ties 1d Penny Black w Iron Cross cd Glasgow-Inverary Very early stamp Entire with a 1p Black Penny Stamp on front cancelled with an Orange Iron Cross cancel. Entire has a Date and location GLASGOW JUN 9 1840 Septagonal cancel on back. Entire has writing to Jame Mcdonald regarding a debt owed, where he cannot pay it now and is asking for 3-4 months time to pay it from R Hay in Glasgow. Entire sent to Inverary, England. Entire has some vertical creasing through middle, some scuffing on edges and corners, some general age wear, and some marking on back.Cover had a 2d Blue Imperf QV stamp at left of Penny Black that did not belong and is now removed. Very Nice Item.
