1853 Great Britain Cover ties LD Red Penny Stamp cd London w Early duplex cd Cover with an Imperf LD Red Penny stamp on front cancelled with a 8Mg JY 29 52 (72) 19 Bar Duplex Cancel on stamp. This Cover was cancelled at the London Chief Office, and with the eqivalent number 73, this is one of the earliest Duplex Cancels in Great Britain, used from March 1853-October 1854. Cover sent to Hampstead Road (London, NW1), and has been opened at back flap. Slight wear to edges and corners with some tearing damage to back flap, some noticeable marking on both sides, and some age wear/toning spots on back of cover, mainly near bottom left corner.
