1861 Great Britain Cover ties 4 stamps cd Belturbet to Wangaratta Cover with 3 Reddish Brown 1p QV Stamps on front and a Purple 6p QV Stamp also on front. Stamps are cancelled with a 18 Bar Square (65) Bar cancel on stamps. There is a Framed BELTURBET FE 19 61 cancel on back of cover. Cover initially sent to Melbourne, but was altered to be sent to Wangaratta, with a London transit cancel on back dated to FE 20 61, a Brown Melbourne Transit cancel on back dated to AP 15 61, and a receiving cancel dated to AP 17 61. Leftmost 1p stamp has some creasing on top left corner, rightmost 1p stamp has evident creasing on right side and the Purple stamp has been partially cut off at bottom edge. Slight wear to edges and corners with some tearing on left edge, some marking remnant on front, evident marking on both sides and some age wear, mainly on back edges. Cover opens from bottom, left and right sides, and as such should be handled carefully.
