1901 Cape of Good Hope On Active Service Boer War Cover 1p Stamp cd Brussels On Active Service 2nd Boer War Cover with a 1d Carmine Hope stamp on front cancelled with a framed BRUSSELS 1 NO 01 CGH cancel across stamp. Brussels as a settlement was not around for very long, and is extremely difficult to find on maps of Cape of Good Hope, making the cancel likely quite rare. Cover also has a Double Ringed Censor W. ELTON KIMBERLEY transit cachet on front. Cover sent to Mansfield, VIC, Australia, with a Kimberley transit cancel on back dated to NO 1? 01, and a receiving cancel on back dated to NO 27 01. Cover has been opened at right edge. Cover has some scuffing on edges and corners, some age wear and toning on both sides, some marking on back, and some general wear to both sides.
