1941 Guernsey Bisect Cover ties 1/2 2p stamp cd Guernsey-Guernsey Bisect Cover with a Bisected Dark Orange 2d (1d) KGVI stamp on front cancelled with a framed GUERSEY 25 JAN 41. Cover also has a 7 Bar roller cancel across stamp. The bisect covers came around due to German occupation of Guernsey in WW2. As postal juristiction of Guernsey was still under British Control, new stamps would take time to be made, and as such a shortage occured. The Germans suggested bisecting 2d stamps as suppliments for 1d stamps between the months of December 1940 and February 1941. These covers were only for local post, and as such this cover was sent locally to Guersey. Cover has been opened at back flap. Cover has some evident brown marking on back, some mild scuffing on edges and corners, some toning on edges at front, and some mild creasing on front.
