1946 United States Airmail Test Cover ties 4 stamps cd Detroit-La Paz Airmail Test Cover with a 10c Twin-Motor Transport Plane Violet Airmail Stamp on front cancelled with a Framed DETROIT MICH NOV 1 1946 NORTH END STA (1) Barred duplex cancel on stamp. Cover was sent as an Airmail Test to La Paz, Bolivia, with a SERVICE AEREO BOLIVIA receiving/returning to sender cancel on front dated to 6 NOV 1946. Once this cover reached La Paz, it was stamped with a Via Panagra Air Mail Test Receiving La Paz 4 NOV 1946 cachet on back, and was uprated with a 90c multicoloured The 20th Anniversary of the First National Air Service stamp, and 2 2B multicoloured The 100th Anniversary of the National Anthem stamps on front. Cover has been opened at back flap. Cover has some mild scuffing on edges and corners, some marking on back, some very mild age wear on both sides and some mild general wear. Interesting Cover that shows an important part of the expansion of Airmail.
