Covers like this from Germany during the period between 1945 and 1948 often have a large amount of stamps due to the poor economic conditions the country was enduring during occupation. These conditions would be mitigated by the 1950s, specifically during 1948 with an economic miracle. Cover sent to Hamburg, Germany, and has been opened at top edge. Cover has some tearing damage on top edge from opening, some marking on both sides, some age wear/toning on back, some scuffing on corners, and some general wear to both sides.
