1948 Germany Russian Zone Cover ties 8 stamps cd Berlin-New York Registered Russian Zone W F Deschler Cover with 8 Stamps from the 1948 Famous Germans series of denominations 20pfg, 24pfg, 25pfg, 30pfg, 40pfg, 50pfg, 60pfg and 80pfg. Stamps are cancelled with a framed Bar 16? 10 48 BERLIN cancel on stamps. Cancel is unclear. Cover has a Registered BERLIN label on front, and an Einschreiben cachet on front. Cover sent to New York, NY, USA, with a New York transit cancel on back dated to 12 22 1948, and a receiving cancel on back dated to DEC 23 1948. Cover has an unused card from W.F. Deschler, who was a Stamp Wholesale seller and importer. This card is in Good Condition. Cover has some tearing from opening, some scuffing on edges and corners, some creasing on corners, some marking on back, some age wear on both sides, and some general wear.
