1956 United States Deep Freeze Cover ties 6c stamp cd USS Operation Deep Freeze Cover with a 6c Carmine DC-4 Skymaster stamp on front cancelled with a Framed U.S.S FEB 10 1956 EDISTO 4 Bar cancel on stamp. Cover also has an Operation Deep Freeze cachet on front and a Signature from the Officer in Charge, Det 71. Operation Deep Freeze is the Code name for United States missions to Antarctica, both for Scientific and resupplying purposes. There have been numerous Deep Freeze operations, and the program is still ongoing today. Cover is unaddressed and has not been opened. Cover is in Good Condition.
