1957 Great Britain 2X Sorting Machine FDCs ties 6 stamps cd Southampton
Set of 2 First Day Covers commemorating the Inauguration of the World's First Naphthadag Automatic Sorting Machine at Southampton on the 19th Dec, 1957. Covers each have 3 QE2 stamps of various values from 1/2d, 1d, 1.5d, 2d, 2.5d and 3d, all cancelled with a Framed SOUTHAMPTON 19 DEC 1957 cancel on stamp. Stamps all also has a 7 Bar roller cancel across them, and a commemorative cachet on left side of covers. Covers both sent locally to Southampton, England, and have both been opened at back flap. Covers have some very mild general wear but are generally in good condition.
