1968 United States Antarctic Support Cover 2 stamps cd US NAVY-London Cover with a 11c Multicoloured International Telecommunication Union stamp on front, and a 2c Blue Black Frank Lloyd Wright stamp both on front cancelled with a Framed US NAVY FEB 18 1968 cancel on front. Cover also has an Antarctic Tourist Expedition cachet on front, a m. s MAGGA DAN cachet on front, a US NAVY ANTARCTIC SUPPORT Hallett Station cachet on front, and a US NAVY Operation Deep Freeze cachet on front. Operation Deep Freeze is the Code name for United States missions to Antarctica, both for Scientific and resupplying purposes. There have been numerous Deep Freeze operations, and the program is still ongoing today. m.s MAGGA DAN was an important resupplying ship for Australian Antarctic stations. Cover sent to London, England, and has been opened at back flap. Cover has some mild scuffing on corners, some creasing on bottom left corner, and some general wear to both sides.
