Rare 1870- Victoria Australia 2d Dl lilac Mauve QV Stamp with 'Scarred face' Queen variety used
Hinge remnant at back, Watermark V over Crown upright, Perf 13, Variety is SCARRED FACE or Decapitated Queen Variety evident by a diagonal line from left frame to Queen's Chignon. In Geoff Kellow's Book - The Stamps of Victoria, he notes on page 188 that
"this is quite rare and must have occurred late in the life of the plate". Only about a dozen
